Wall masonry work can be done either in Class-1 bricks or with Hollow concrete blocks. In either case special care has to be taken to stagger the joints of bricks or blocks in successive layers. The joints in between should be of cement sand mortar in the proportion of 1:6 ( 1 part of cement & 6 parts of sand) having a uniform thickness of 12mm.

Check points:

1) Entire wall has to be aligned horizontally in one straight line.

2 )Entire wall has to be in plumb ( 90 deg) vertically.

3) Concrete reinforcement  3" thick has to be laid horizontally after every 3 feet height.

4) In case of a union of new wall with old wall or with RCC element above wire/chicken mesh has to be placed and fixed 6" on either sides before starting plaster work.

5 )Curing has to be done to all new walls erected before starting plaster work.

Plaster shall be in cement sand mortar in the proportion of 1:4 ( 1 part of cement & 4 parts of sand) having a uniform thickness of 12mm in line horizontally & vertically. Wall putty application is done in continuation after cement sand plaster is finished.

In case if POP punning is to be done later, the wall masonry is only finished with cement sand plaster with steel brush strokes applied gently on the plastered surface to maximize the bonding of POP punning with cement plaster.
