Audiovisual system can be basically divided into categories such as :

  • Audio system : In which the conduiting and cabling needs to be done from the amplifier and DVD upto the speaker locations before the partition at the time of partition and false ceiling framing work. Finally the speakers and amplifiers can be installed during the final stage of painting.
  • Video system : In which the conduiting and cabling work needs to be done from the external TV channel provider source upto the TV location. This is done at the time of partition and false ceiling framing work. Also Electrical provisioning is done for the supply of TV , DVD  and Channel provider equipment. Finally the TV and  other euipments are mounted during the final stage of painting.
  • Video conferencing : This is mostly used for conference rooms for discussions and conducting meetings with people at other locations. In this system the data cabling has to be done from the server room upto the location of AV equipment. Also connection needs to be done from the AV equipment location upto the TV, Camera & microphones location. The type of cables commonly used are VGA cable or HDMI cable between the AV equipment and TV. The height of TV & Camera  is generally taken as 4' and 3'-6" respectively from the finished floor level. For big conference rooms having a number of microphones and laptops, a switcher or mixer is provided to house multiple inputs. The switcher/ mixer is then connected to the video conferencing equipment. The entire cabling work has to be carried out before the flooring work as most of the data cabling runs through floors. The cabling should then be taken in a concealed within the partitions. Electrical power supply has to be provided for all the components of VC system. After the partition works are concluded and finished only then the Mounting of TV, camera and Video conferencing eqipment should be done.
